Black History Month 2026 - Special Tours

Date: 13:00-14:00 30 October 2026

In honour of Black History Month 2026, join us for a special guided tour exploring the stories of the Black men and women who travelled with, worked alongside, and supported David Livingstone during his expeditions throughout Africa.

The tour will shine a light on those who are often overlooked in David Livingstone’s story. The tour will explore their experiences, contributions, and the important roles they played in David Livingstone’s journeys.

The tour will run once a week, every Friday at 1pm. Included dates are:

  • Friday 16 October 2026
  • Friday 23 October 2026
  • Friday 30 October 2026

Come along and hear the lost voices of Livingstone’s expeditions and learn about the people whose stories play a vital role in Livingstone’s story!

The tour will be delivered by one of our NSI heritage trainees, Natasha, as part of her work exploring and presenting the various narratives found within the museum’s collections.
