- National Museum and House of Culture in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- McGregor Museums South Africa (the central museum in charge of 14 satellite museums including the Mary Moffat Museum in Kuruman)
- Sungani Zakwathu Cultural Heritage Association, a Cultural Tourism NGO based in Malawi.
- National Museum Botswana
Objectives
- To contact and establish partnerships with international museums and heritage organisations.
- To facilitate knowledge exchange
- Gather research to better understand our collection
- Bring source community voice into our exhibition interpretation.
Desired Outcomes
- Oral history and video Interviews with source communities
- New interpretation: audio guide/ interactive with source community participants
- Ongoing partnerships and knowledge exchange with partners and a framework for continued international partnership work.
- Scoping potential for further international projects: these initial partnerships can be considered as a trial or phase 1- building relationships and gathering evidence before seeking funding for longer more sustained partnership projects 2023-2024 i.e. development of a physical exhibition and heritage trails / International Research Hub/ Field trips etc.
