Wild Escape Easter Events Programme 2023

Easter Weekend - 9th and 10th April 2023

Join us this Easter as we take you on a Wild Escape. With activities and workshops for all ages, come on down to David Livingstone Birthplace to join us celebrating all things nature this Easter Saturday 9th April and Sunday 10th April 2023. These fun workshops and events will run from 11am-1pm both days! So do not worry if one day gets booked, you have 2 days to do these awesome activities which were planned by our amazing team. We do hope to see you at our parklands this Easter.

Entrance to our Easter activities is just £6 per child.

Tickets for these events will be available to purchase online, which is essential to guarantee your spot as we don’t want to disappoint. But drop-ins may be possible to purchase within the museum that day but is not guaranteed. Adults are welcome to join the children for the Easter fun, and no need to purchase an add-on ticket... unless wanting to take part.

We have an Easter Trail in the museum that is included in your family ticket price - we will have the holiday offer available again - Family Ticket £12 which includes your indoor trail.

Our wonderful museum, café and shop will be open throughout the day, so feel free to grab a ticket and explore the museum, then go to the café and grab a bite to eat, and later pop into the gift shop to check out some lovely gifts.

Easter Crafts

This is a hands-on Easter craft workshop for kids. Create bunny lollies, chicken decorations, flowers, and an Easter crown.

Create easter decorations at David Livingstone Birthplace with fun hands-on Easter workshop for children. Little bunnies can come along and do some crafts while spending time with their families. Get creative and enjoy the fun here at David Livingstone this Easter. Create your very own bunny crown, which you can pose with all day and look fabulous while completing your scavenger hunt. We also have some amazing crafts involving chickens, hand-made flowers and much more.

Cookie Decorating

This is a fun, exciting hands-on Easter workshop for anyone 5+. You can decorate pre-made bunny shaped cookie to create a David Livingstone taste-tastic biscuit. The great Easter cookie decorating at David Livingstone Birthplace with a fun hands-on Easter workshop for anyone over the age of 5! Anyone who is 5+ can decorate a pre-made bunny biscuit and walk away with a delicious, hand decorated biscuit to enjoy themselves or give as a gift to loved one.

The workshop can get a little messy so we recommend wearing older clothes that you do not mind getting messy or bring your own apron to get a bit of icing on it.

Nature Trail

Hop into the Easter fun here at David Livingstone Birthplace Parkland. Little adventurers can enjoy a fun-filled Easter hunt and can decorate a plant pot and fill it with seeds to take home.

Get ready to hunt! Simply collect the scavenger hunt map at the museum or in the gift shop then go go go. Search the parklands high and low to find the well-hidden clues. Every little adventurer will receive a chocolate treat to celebrate completing the scavenger hunt. Then join our bunny creators to paint your own plant pot, you even get to plant your own herbs and flower seeds, then watch them grow at home and keep us updated on your plant by posting it on social media and tag us.

Spring Plant Pot Workshop

Make yourself a beautiful plant pot, using your imagination and some lovely materials, then grab yourself a pair of gloves and enjoy planting some herbs and flowers in your egg-cellent new plant pot.

Spring has sprung, it’s now time to get creative at our workshop. Join us to create a lovely painted pot using a variety of materials provided. Then pop back once its dry, either go scavenger hunting or decorate a cookie whilst you wait! Then pop back and get a pair of gloves on to plant amazing herbs and seeds in your very own unique pot. This workshop is wonderful for adults and children to enjoy.
