David Livingstone Birthplace Partners with Scotland Malawi Partnership for First School Partnership Awards
October 2019
Scotland Malawi Partnership and David Livingstone Birthplace are pleased to announce the launch of the first School Partnership Awards. The awards, supported by the Year of Young People National Lottery Fund, aim to celebrate the variety of school partnerships held between Scotland and Malawi.
The awards will be judged by the Scotland Malawi Partnership Youth Committee - ten young people from across Scotland with a link to Malawi. The Youth Committee is looking for entries that tell the story of a partnership, where it has come from and where it is going in the future.
Entries can be as creative as possible - a storybook, a video, even a mood board or collage - highlighting how the school works with partners in Malawi. The Youth Committee wants to encourage as many young people as possible to take part from across Scotland and the awards are open to all schools/settings.
Entries should be made in partnership with the school’s links in Malawi and should take special consideration of the Partnership Principle of Sustainability. Award winners will be announced with a very special guest at a ceremony on Thursday, December 5. All winners will receive copies of professional photos taken on the day as well as a certificate for Scottish and Malawian partners with the kind support of our sister organisation, the Malawi Scotland Partnership.
