Tales of the Tableaux: Truth
Animation from the Learning From Livingstone Resource, First Expedition- Activity 1.
This animation is shown in the museum's Legacy space, amongst other animated and narrated videos that make up our Tales of the Tableaux series. In the museum collection, eight original sculptural reliefs were commissioned for the museum and created by Charles d'Orville Pilkington Jackson in the 1920s. With the museum's contemporary redevelopment, these sculptures have been animated and the narratives they tell reimagined by Petina Gappah, a celebrated Zimbabwean lawyer, writer and David Livingstone scholar.
The video shown below is for use in the first activity of the "Learning From Livingstone" resource titled Truth.
A transcript of this video is provided within the Learning From Livingstone resource (please refer to the section - First Expedition: Activity 1).
