David Livingstone’s Birthplace Starts New Adventure with £6 Million Funding

The National Lottery and Scottish Government announce support for transformational project at Blantyre. Described as Africa’s first freedom fighter*, David Livingstone is of immense international importance in terms of his contribution to science, exploration, faith and humanitarianism yet he remains largely unrecognised in Scotland.

BBC News - Grant to Revamp David Livingstone Birthplace in Blantyre

Plans for a multi-million pound revamp of a museum dedicated to Scots explorer and missionary David Livingstone have been awarded £334,000 lottery funding.
