Volunteer Opportunities

Do you feel passionate about museums and heritage? Do you want to work towards a qualification in museums? If so, we want to hear from you! We have two new volunteer roles available at David Livingstone Birthplace (DLB). As part of Museums Galleries Scotland’s project "Upskilling and Celebrating Volunteers".

The David Livingstone Trust is currently restoring and developing David Livingstone's Birthplace and Parkland and making it more accessible and interactive for our communities. We hope to reopen in Summer 2020.

David Livingstone Birthplace Secures New Grant for Developing Partnerships and Networks with Museums and Organisations in the African Countries

David Livingstone Birthplace has secured a new grant of £39k from Museums Galleries Scotland for a project which will develop working partnerships and networks between David Livingstone Birthplace and museums and organisations which hold collections relating to Livingstone in the African countries he explored.
